2016 marks 100 years in business for the John Cotton Group. To mark this monumental occasion, the business has decided to give something back to its staff, chosen charities and the community with a host of fundraising activities and events across the year.

As a gesture of his gratitude to their hard work and dedication, the company chairman, John Cotton, has instigated quarterly prize draws, where employees have the chance to win £1,000, £500 or £250 in vouchers for the White Rose shopping centre on four different occasions throughout the centenary year.

The company held its second prize draw of the year in April which was drawn by Councillor Martyn Bolt and awarded by Managing Director Mark Cotton. Sukhvinder Singh, a Machine Operator who has worked at John Cotton for 22 years, claimed the top prize. Second place was Andrew Millington who has worked for the Nonwovens Division of the company for 34 years; with Pillow Line Supervisor, Atif Ali, taking the third prize.

July prize draw winnerswere Christopher Walker (1st), Alfredo Rodrigues (2nd), David Royal-Evatt (3rd).

Mark Cotton, son of John Cotton and Group Managing Director, said: “These prize draws are being held to say thank you and to give something back to the staff who make this company what it is. Without their commitment and devotion, we would not be where we are today.”

The company is also surprising employees with gift vouchers on each of their birthdays, a number of smaller surprises throughout the year and a large staff party.
